Review : H&M 'Beauty Blender' Make Up Sponge

Hey Everyone,

About 2 or 3 weeks ago I went shopping and whilst in H&M i came across a make up sponge shaped very much like the super popular but also super expensive beauty blender.

I don't own the beauty blender so this is not by any means a comparison review but i just wanted to let anyone interested know exactly how this tool works.

This make up Sponge is far from being boring in the shape department in fact my mum even implied that it looks like it could be a prop from Fifty shades of grey !

It is tapered to a point on one end which is super useful for getting foundation into areas that are harder to reach with a brush, such as under the eyes, around the nose and into the hairline

The other end of the sponge is flat and circular which i think works really well for blending foundation out in larger areas like the forehead and cheeks.

When i first bought this i was thinking of using it wet. With the beauty blender you dampen it and it expands to 3x its size but this sponge certainly didn't.

When this sponge gets wet it stays the same size and unsurprisingly the only difference is that it feels wet.

For actually applying foundation this make up sponge is nothing amazing. Yes, the shape is useful but it's honestly nothing special.

If your in the market for a new make up sponge then sure, give this a whirl but if you are looking for a new and exciting way to apply your foundation this probably isn't it.

This product retails for £2.95 in H&M stores and online.

Thank you for reading

    1. You should try the elf studio powder brush, it gives a much more flawless foundation look than just using your fingers :) x
